Learn more about the Functions of Ammonium Bicarbonate

Ammonium bicarbonate is still popular among farmers as a traditional fertiliser.

What is the Role of Ammonium Bicarbonate? What are the ways to Use Ammonium Bicarbonate?

What is Ammonium Bicarbonate Fertiliser?

Ammonium bicarbonate is a sulfate-free nitrogen fertiliser, slightly heavier than granular urea, easily soluble in water. Agricultural ammonium bicarbonate is a white or light-coloured crystals, its common name has "ammonium carbonate", "carbon ammonia", etc., pure ammonium bicarbonate nitrogen mass fraction of 17.72%. As ammonium bicarbonate is a non-sulfate nitrogen fertiliser, it releases both carbon dioxide and ammonium nitrogen, and its elements are crop nutrients, which is in line with the absorption mechanism of crops, and it is the ideal material for the synthesis of amino acids in crops. As far as the nutritional function of fertiliser is concerned, ammonium carbon is the fertiliser which is all directly absorbed, it does not contain intermediate products and final decomposition products, and long-term application does not affect the soil quality. It is inexpensive, in China's rural areas, is an important nitrogen fertiliser varieties used by the majority of farmers.

What is the Role of Ammonium Bicarbonate?

1, Fast and Efficient

Compared with urea, urea can not be directly absorbed by the crop after it is applied to the soil, in line with the conditions of a series of transformations to be absorbed by the crop, the effect of fertiliser to be a little late. Ammonium carbon is immediately adsorbed by the soil colloid after application to the soil, directly for crop absorption and utilisation, the same day can be effective.

2, Double fertiliser effect after ammonium carbon is applied to the soil, ammonia and carbon dioxide are formed, ammonia is used by the root system of the crop; carbon dioxide is directly absorbed by the crop as a gas fertiliser.

3, Insect repellent, bactericidal application of ammonium carbon, the soil pests can be quickly killed or driven away, and can kill harmful bacteria.

4, Cost-effective ammonium bicarbonate and other nitrogen fertiliser with the same fertilizer efficiency compared to the price of ammonium bicarbonate is more affordable, ammonium bicarbonate is absorbed by the crop without residue, will not cause any harm to the soil.

Use of Ammonium Bicarbonate

1, Used as nitrogen fertiliser, suitable for a variety of soils, can provide both ammonium nitrogen and carbon dioxide required for crop growth, but low nitrogen content, easy to caking;

2, Used as an analytical reagent, also used for the synthesis of ammonium salts and fabric degreasing;

3, Used as chemical fertiliser;

4, It can promote crop growth and photosynthesis, promote seedling and leaf growth, can be used as chasing fertiliser, also can be used as bottom fertiliser directly applied, used as food fermentation agent, swelling agent;

5, As a chemical bulking agent, China's regulations can be used for all kinds of food need to add bulking agent, according to the production needs of the appropriate amount of use;

6, Used as advanced food fermentation agent. Combined with sodium bicarbonate, it can be used as raw material for bread, biscuits, pancakes and other puffing agents, and also used as raw material for foaming powder juice. Also used in green vegetables, bamboo shoots and other hot bleaching, as well as medicine and reagents;

7, Alkali; Puffing Agent; Buffer; Aerating Agent. It can be combined with sodium bicarbonate as the raw material of puffing agent for bread, biscuits, pancakes and so on. Baking powder is also used as the main ingredient, with acid. Also used as raw materials for foaming powder juice green vegetables, bamboo shoots, etc. Use 0.1% to 0.3% when bleaching;

8, Used as crop fertiliser;

9, Ammonium bicarbonate which has a quick-acting, inexpensive, economic, does not slate the soil, suitable for a variety of crops and various types of soil, both for the base fertiliser, but also for the advantages of follow-up fertiliser, by the farmers' welcome. The annual dosage accounts for about 1/4 of the total output of nitrogen fertiliser, and it is the most widely used nitrogen fertiliser product in China except urea.
