Potassium Chlorate (KClO3) – Industrial & High Purity Reagent Grade | CAS: 3811-04-9
Potassium chlorate (chemical formula KClO3, CAS No. 3811-04-9, EINECS: 223-289-7) is a high-efficiency inorganic strong oxidizer, widely recognized and applied in global industrial manufacturing fields. Our factory supplies two mainstream stable specifications: industrial grade and high-purity reagent grade potassium chlorate. Adopting advanced electrolysis production process and multi-stage recrystallization purification technology, our products feature uniform particle size, low impurity content and stable oxidizing activity, with a purity range of 99.0% to 99.8%. Exported steadily to Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe and other regions all year round, the products are core raw materials for matches manufacturing, pyrotechnics production, mineral flotation, chemical synthesis and other industries, winning long-term recognition from global industrial buyers for stable batch consistency.

1. Physical & Chemical Properties
Pure potassium chlorate appears as colorless glossy monoclinic crystal or white fine crystalline powder, odorless, with a cool and salty taste. It has excellent water solubility, soluble in hot water and slightly soluble in cold water, insoluble in ethanol, ether and other organic solvents. The product is non-hygroscopic under normal temperature and pressure, with a density of 2.34 g/cm³. It has strong oxidizing properties, can react violently with combustible materials, sulfur, phosphorus, organic matter and reducing substances, and is easy to cause combustion and explosion when impacted, rubbed or heated. Our refined products strictly control chloride, sulfate and heavy metal impurities, effectively avoiding unstable chemical activity caused by excessive impurities, and ensuring safe and stable industrial application.

3. Core Industrial Applications
3.1 Pyrotechnics & Matches Industry (Core Search Scenario)
As a classic high-efficiency oxidizer, potassium chlorate is the key raw material for safety matches, fireworks and firecrackers manufacturing. It can accelerate combustion reaction, improve flame brightness and color saturation, and ensure stable and uniform combustion effect. Our low-impurity formula avoids deflagration and unstable combustion problems caused by impurity interference, which is the preferred material for most pyrotechnics manufacturers worldwide.
3.2 Mineral Flotation & Metallurgy Industry
Widely used as flotation agent and oxidizing auxiliary in non-ferrous metal mines such as copper, lead and zinc mines. It can oxidize and decompose gangue impurities, improve the separation efficiency of target minerals, and effectively increase the ore recovery rate. It is also used for impurity removal and purification in the smelting process of precious metals, with stable drug effect and low comprehensive use cost.
3.3 Fine Chemical & Pharmaceutical Industry
It is an important basic raw material for the synthesis of chlorate series chemicals, used to prepare potassium perchlorate, sodium chlorate and other oxidizing chemical products. High-purity reagent grade products are used for laboratory chemical analysis, chemical reagent preparation and pharmaceutical intermediate oxidation synthesis, meeting high-standard fine chemical production requirements.
3.4 Other Industrial Scenarios
Used as bleaching agent for paper, textile and straw products, with strong and mild oxidizing bleaching capacity, no damage to fiber texture; it can also be applied in water treatment oxidation disinfection and industrial waste gas treatment, serving multiple downstream industrial chains.
4. Manufacturer Advantages
First, we adopt independent electrolysis production and one-stop purification process, with no intermediate circulation, ensuring stable product quality and competitive factory direct sales price. Second, we have complete production qualifications and safety certification systems, all products comply with international industrial standards, and support SGS, BV and other third-party authoritative testing. Third, we have sufficient monthly production capacity to guarantee spot supply, support flexible MOQ for trial orders and bulk long-term orders. Fourth, we have a professional export team, proficient in dangerous goods export procedures, providing one-stop logistics and document services to solve global customer customs clearance problems.
5. Storage, Transportation & Safety Precautions
Potassium chlorate is a dangerous oxidizing chemical, which must be stored in a cool, dry, ventilated special chemical warehouse, away from direct sunlight, high temperature and humidity environment. It is strictly prohibited to store and transport together with combustibles, sulfur, phosphorus, organic matter, reducing agents and strong acids. During operation, workers must wear anti-corresponding protective gloves, goggles and dust-proof masks, avoid friction, impact and extrusion. In case of accidental contact with skin and eyes, rinse with plenty of clean water immediately and seek medical treatment in time. Strictly abide by dangerous goods transportation specifications during logistics delivery to ensure transportation safety.
